Washington, February 11 (Xinhua) — The United States insists on continuing negotiations with Iran to assess the feasibility of a deal, US President Donald Trump said Wednesday after a closed-door meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.
“I just completed a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his representatives,” Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social.
"We haven't achieved any concrete results, other than my insistence on continuing negotiations with Iran to see if a deal is possible," Trump said. "If it is, I'll let the Prime Minister know that would be the preferred option. If not, we'll just have to figure out what the outcome is."
He added that they discussed the progress achieved in Gaza and the region as a whole.
B. Netanyahu arrived at the White House on Wednesday morning and left without a press conference or statement to the press.
The meeting, the seventh since the start of Trump's second term, reportedly lasted about three hours. –0–
