Caracas, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) — Acting Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez met with U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright at Miraflores Palace on Wednesday to discuss the bilateral energy agenda.
According to the Venezuelan Presidential Office, the purpose of the meeting was to “discuss a mutually beneficial energy agenda” in the context of the Bolivarian nation’s energy independence and bilateral relations.
The meeting was attended by US Chargé d'Affaires Laura Dogue, President of Venezuela's state-owned oil company PDVSA Hector Obregón Pérez, and the Bolivarian Republic's diplomatic representative to the US, Felix Plasencia.
Wright's trip marks the first visit by a senior U.S. official to Venezuela since the Bolivarian Republic's President Nicolás Maduro and his wife were forcibly removed from the country by the United States on January 3. –0–
