The final meeting of the board of JSC Russian Railways was held in Moscow under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that increasing cargo handling volumes is a key objective for Russian Railways in 2026. Last year, Russian Railways carried over 1.3 billion passengers, a 20-year high. Russian Railways is also successfully developing transit services along the North-South international transport corridor.

The Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed highway, a presidential project, began in 2025. Construction of a test section from Zelenograd to Tver is already underway. Currently, approximately 18,000 construction workers and over 8,000 pieces of equipment are involved in the highway's construction.
