Construction of the Adler bypass continues in Krasnodar Krai. Road workers have begun preparatory work for the longest overpass, announced Deputy Prime Minister and Supervisor of the Southern Federal District Marat Khusnullin.
The Adler bypass is a major infrastructure project that requires unique technical and technological solutions due to the dense urban development and challenging mountainous terrain. Its implementation will help divert transit traffic from the resort area and provide comfortable conditions for local residents and visitors to the Black Sea coast. All this will ensure the dynamic socioeconomic development of the region and open up new opportunities for expanding domestic tourism. Work on the project is progressing well. Today, road workers began preparations for the construction of the longest overpass along the left bank of the Kudepsta River on one side and the landslide-prone mountain range on the other. It will be 916 meters long. It will begin at Tikhy Lane and end at the entrance to the tunnels on the western side of the bypass. It will include two separate two-lane overpasses. "The overpass's stability will be ensured by 32 supports ranging in height from 2.3 to 11.4 meters. To protect the supports from landslides, 14 reinforced concrete protective structures are planned," said Marat Khusnullin.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that the artificial structure will run along a steep mountain slope, so to ensure the reliability of the overpass, a complex of retaining and landslide protection structures with a total length of 1,033 meters will be erected.
According to Vyacheslav Petushenko, head of the state-owned company Avtodor, a whole range of measures are being implemented as part of the preparatory work.
"We are currently creating the temporary infrastructure necessary for the commencement of construction and installation work. We are constructing an access road and relocating utility lines, including water and gas networks, as well as the municipal 800mm diameter main water pipeline. At the same time, we are installing formwork on the western side of the bridge supports over the Kudepsta River. Preparations for concreting the superstructures have begun," explained Vyacheslav Petushenko.
The Adler bypass will be part of a planned highway from the M-4 Don highway to Sochi.
