Tehran, February 11 (Xinhua) — The West's "wall of mistrust" and the US's excessive demands are hindering progress in nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Wednesday while addressing celebrations marking the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
According to him, Iran does not seek to develop nuclear weapons and is “ready for any verification of this.”
"We believe that the region's problems can only be resolved by regional countries, not by outside states," the president noted, adding that Tehran will never give in to excessive demands and aggression.
At the same time, he stated that Iran is sincerely following the path of diplomacy and interacting with West Asian countries to ensure peace in the region. –0–
