BEIJING, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping inspected the combat readiness of the armed forces via video link in Beijing on Tuesday, reviewing the status of ongoing military tasks and extending his congratulations to the military on the upcoming Spring Festival.
Xi Jinping, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), extended holiday greetings to the servicemen of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), the People's Armed Police (PAP), civilian personnel of the armed forces, reservists and people's militias on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the CMC.
