BEIJING, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) — The construction of a new type of strategic partnership between China and Canada is not directed against any third parties, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Wednesday in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's comments on China-Canada cooperation.

Lin Jian said at a regular press briefing that the building of a new type of strategic partnership between the two countries reflects the spirit of equality, openness, inclusiveness, peaceful cooperation and mutual benefit.

He stressed that the partnership between the two sides serves the common interests of the peoples of both countries and contributes to peace, stability, development and prosperity throughout the world. -0-
