OTTAWA, February 11 (Xinhua) — Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed shock and sorrow on Tuesday over the mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, and pledged full federal support for the residents, according to a statement published on social media.
Ten people, including the shooter, were killed in the incident. Tumbler Ridge is a remote community of approximately 2,400 people, located approximately 400 miles northeast of Vancouver. The high school where the shooting occurred has approximately 160 students.

Police said the shooter was found dead at the school from a self-inflicted wound. Two people in serious condition were airlifted to the hospital, and 25 more victims are being treated at a local medical center.
