Paris, February 8 (Xinhua) — One person died and more than 80 others were evacuated after a fire broke out Sunday at a homeless shelter in southern France, French media reported.

According to the Metropolitain newspaper, the incident occurred on Sunday morning at a homeless shelter in the city of Montpellier, resulting in the death of one person.

The report noted that local emergency services, including about 50 firefighters, evacuated more than 80 homeless people, including seven people trapped inside the building.
