Tokyo, February 8 (Xinhua) — The ruling coalition of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan and the Japan Renewal Society is expected to win a majority of seats in the House of Representatives (lower house of parliament) in Sunday's general election, according to an exit poll conducted by Japan's public broadcaster NHK.

According to exit polls, the ruling bloc is expected to win between 302 and 366 seats, giving it a 233-seat majority, NHK reported.

The LDP alone is expected to secure a single-party majority in the lower house, the broadcaster reported.

On election day, NHK conducted exit polls at more than 4,000 polling stations across the country, collecting responses from approximately 340,000 voters out of 571,000 surveyed. –0–
