BANGKOK, February 8 (Xinhua) — A shooting and explosion occurred in Yala Province, southern Thailand, on Sunday, injuring a security guard working at a polling station, local media reported.
The incident reportedly occurred at 4:35 PM local time. A military patrol responsible for election security was ambushed, leaving one person injured. Security personnel have cordoned off the scene for an investigation.
