BEIJING, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday sent a congratulatory message to Laura Fernandez on her election as President of Costa Rica.
He noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 18 years ago, China and Costa Rica have made rapid progress in developing bilateral ties, and exchanges and cooperation in various fields have been fruitful, bringing tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries.
According to Xi Jinping, facts have fully proven that the development of relations between China and Costa Rica serves the fundamental interests of the two countries and their peoples, reflects the prevailing trend of the times and the common aspirations of the peoples.
