BEIJING, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) — Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Special Envoy of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Cuban government, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Foreign Minister of Cuba, in Beijing on Thursday.

As Wang Huning, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, recalled, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel met twice in 2025 and outlined a plan to build a closer China-Cuba community of shared future.

According to the Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, China will firmly support Cuba's just struggle against external interference and, together with Cuba, protect the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries. The CPPCC National Committee is ready to contribute to deepening friendly cooperation between the two countries, Wang Huning added.

For his part, B. Rodríguez Parrilla emphasized that China is a vital force in defending world peace and represents hope for the Global South. He assured that Cuba is ready to work with China to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, steadily strengthen relations between the two parties and countries, and jointly uphold international fairness and justice.
