CARACAS, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) — Thousands of people gathered in Venezuela's capital Caracas on Tuesday, demanding the release of President Nicolas Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, a month after they were captured by force during the U.S. military operation in Venezuela.

Miranda State Governor Elio Serrano said the mobilization demonstrated the people's determination to tell the world that they are still fighting, adding that the country's acting president, Delcy Rodriguez, has the "support of the people."

Jenny Escobar, president of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs of Venezuela, said the rally confirmed the loyalty and strong support of the people to N. Maduro and S. Flores.

Protesters marched from Plaza Venezuela to Urdaneta Avenue in central Caracas, continuing demonstrations that have been ongoing since January 3. –0–
