BEIJING, July 28 (Xinhua) — China will introduce a state-subsidized childcare system as part of the country's broader efforts to support families and encourage births.

Starting in 2025, the program will pay families 3,600 yuan (about $503) per year for each child under the age of three.

The subsidies will be exempt from personal income tax and will not be counted as family or personal income when determining whether recipients are covered by the minimum living wage system and are classified as low-income. -0-
