TEHRAN, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) — Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Sunday that his country considers the armed forces of European Union member states "terrorist groups."
As reported by the Iranian parliament's news agency ICANA, M. B. Ghalibaf made the statement in response to the EU's decision on January 29 to include Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the list of terrorist organizations.
"The consequences of this step will fall on the European Union," M. B. Ghalibaf emphasized. He called the EU's decision "irresponsible," noting that it was made in accordance with the instructions of US President Donald Trump and Israeli leaders.
The Iranian parliament speaker added that "baseless" accusations against the IRGC would weaken Europe's position in the future world order.
