Islamabad, January 31 (Xinhua) — Pakistani security forces repelled coordinated terrorist attacks in southwestern Pakistan's Balochistan province on Saturday, killing at least 10 security personnel and 37 militants, local security sources told Xinhua.
According to them, the banned terrorist organization Balochistan Liberation Army carried out attacks early in the morning at several locations, including the districts of Quetta, Nushki, and Gwadar, simultaneously. The attacks targeted security forces facilities and government institutions.
The Pakistani Armed Forces, Frontier Corps, and Balochistan Police responded quickly and thwarted the militants' plans after intense gunfire, sources noted.
Several security forces were reportedly injured. According to sources, a total of 88 terrorists have been killed in the region over the past 48 hours.
