BEIJING, January 29 (Xinhua) — China recalled more than 38 million vehicles during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025) as part of efforts to improve the product recall system, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) announced on Thursday.
According to the agency, vehicles were recalled 1,074 times.
According to the GURR, a total of 4,190 consumer product recalls were carried out during the reporting period, covering more than 40.4 million units of product.
It is noted that market regulation agencies have continued to consistently strengthen oversight of quality and safety.
Specifically, manufacturing licensing was introduced for 14 categories and 27 types of industrial products. High-risk products, such as power banks and e-bike helmets, were included in the mandatory certification system. A pilot reform of the CCC certification mark, a mandatory safety assessment standard, was implemented for three categories and 11 types of high-risk products, including power banks. Additionally, a pilot program for quality labeling and verification was launched for 10 key products sold online, including power banks.
