Tehran, January 29 (Xinhua) — The Iranian military announced the delivery of 1,000 strategic drones to combat units across all four branches of the armed forces, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Thursday.
The drones were developed by army specialists in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence to counter emerging threats and taking into account lessons learned from the 12-day war, the statement said.
The announcement follows the US deployment of a carrier-led strike group to the Middle East earlier this week. Tensions between Tehran and Washington are rising as the United States intensifies its rhetoric and warnings against Iran.
