Khartoum, January 28 (Xinhua) — At least 13 people were killed and six others injured in the recent collapse of a traditional gold mine in South Kordofan state in southern Sudan, the Sudan Mineral Resources Company, the country's mining authority, announced on Wednesday.
As the company announced on its official Facebook page, five abandoned shafts collapsed at the Um Fakrun mine in the town of Abu Jubaiha on January 23.
The company added that several people are still missing.
