PARIS, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) — France's National Assembly approved a bill on Monday that bans children and teenagers under 15 from using social media over concerns about its impact on mental health.
The bill will be sent to the Senate for consideration.
There's a growing trend worldwide to restrict children's access to social media, driven by mounting evidence of its detrimental impact on mental health. A similar law was passed in Australia late last year.
