Washington, January 26 (Xinhua) — The U.S. carrier strike group, led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, is currently deployed to the Middle East, U.S. Central Command announced on Monday on the social media platform X.
“Sailors aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) perform routine maintenance work while the aircraft carrier is sailing through the Indian Ocean on January 26,” the command said in a statement released along with two photographs.
US President Donald Trump said last week that while "significant" US naval forces were heading to Iran, they might not have to be used.
