BEIJING, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) — More than 2,400 new foreign-invested enterprises were registered in Beijing in 2025, up 19.5 percent from 2024, according to local authorities.

Last year, the country's capital recognized 20 newly registered foreign-invested enterprises as regional headquarters of multinational corporations and attracted 121 foreign-funded projects with investment exceeding US$10 million each, Beijing Mayor Yin Yong said Sunday while delivering a government work report to the annual session of the Beijing People's Congress.

According to the mayor, in 2026 the city will continue to expand its openness, aiming to improve the quality of foreign investment and attract more high-quality projects involving foreign investment.

Strong foreign trade performance also supported the city's commitment to opening up. Beijing's total foreign trade volume in the first 11 months of 2025 reached 2.93 trillion yuan (approximately $421 billion), with exports for the same period reaching a record high of 568.35 billion yuan, a 3 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to Beijing Customs data.
