Kabul, January 25 (Xinhua) — Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani held separate meetings with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo on Saturday in Kabul, according to statements released by the two ministries.

A.H. Muttaqi and R. DiCarlo held comprehensive discussions on strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Afghan government and the UN, including progress in implementing the Doha Agreement. During the talks, R. DiCarlo asked Afghanistan to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid by some UN agencies whose activities remain suspended, emphasizing that such assistance is vital for the Afghan people.

Meanwhile, R. DiCarlo and S. Haqqani held an in-depth exchange of views on developing Afghanistan's relations with the international community, cooperation in the fight against narcotics, strengthening economic stability, easing restrictions on the private sector, and increasing the effectiveness of UN-led humanitarian efforts.
