BEIJING, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) — A new cold front is forecast to sweep across central and eastern China from Sunday to Tuesday, bringing snow, rain and lower temperatures, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Saturday.
Light to moderate snow is forecast to fall in regions including northern China, southern Northeast China and the northern Huanghuai region (between the Yellow and Huaihe rivers) from Sunday to Tuesday.
Sleet is expected in central Huanghuai region and southern Shaanxi province, while freezing rain may hit parts of Henan and Hubei provinces.
According to forecasts, air temperatures in regions affected by the cold front will drop by 3-6 degrees Celsius, and in some areas the temperature drop will exceed 8 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologists warned of slippery roads and possible ice formation due to rain and snow, urging the public to exercise caution when traveling. -0-
