Moscow, January 21 (Xinhua) – Tu-95MS strategic bombers completed a more than 11-hour flight over the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.
"Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers of the Long-Range Aviation carried out a scheduled flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan. The flight duration was more than 11 hours," the statement reads.
Fighter escort was provided by crews of Su-35S and Su-30SM aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces, the Russian Ministry of Defense indicated.
"Long-Range Aviation crews regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Pacific Ocean, and the Black and Baltic Seas. All flights by Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft are carried out in strict compliance with international airspace regulations," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
