On January 21, the Russian scientific community celebrates an unofficial holiday: Graduate Student Day.

It was on this day in 1925 that documents regulating the system of training scientific workers were issued: “Regulations on scientific workers of higher education institutions” and “Instructions on the procedure for training scientific workers at research institutes and higher education institutions in applied, exact and natural sciences.”

Every year, approximately 100 talented young people seeking a career in science enroll in graduate school at the State University of Management. SUM places great emphasis on developing the scientific field and supporting young scientists and graduate students. Our university has created the necessary infrastructure for a wide range of research: several research centers are integrated into a system, new modern laboratories have opened, including those equipped with CNC machines, reverse engineering equipment, digital innovations for industry, and unmanned systems. A number of major research projects are underway, and a Student Design Bureau is in operation.

In 2025, our graduate students participated in and won various national competitions, including the first Student Design Bureau Competition and the second Young Scientists Competition, and the overall winners of the All-Russian Space Dictation.

Today, we congratulate our graduate students on their professional holiday. We wish them inspiration for new discoveries, successful research, and caring scientific advisors and talented colleagues. Let us continue to advance science together for the benefit of our country!
