The unmanned cleaning robot "Pixel" is operating in Moscow parks and on several streets. It was developed by the Moscow-based company "Avtonomika," a resident of the Lomonosov cluster. The first units were deployed in 2023 and were used for unmanned cleaning in the city center. The company currently has over 35 operational cleaning robots and several prototypes.

In 2024–2025, the Moscow Innovation Cluster, subordinate to the capital’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development, conducted an experiment with year-round robotic cleaning. Innovative assistants maintained 50th Anniversary of October Park and the Raduga, Khodynskoye Pole, Kuzminki-Lyublino, and Sokolniki ponds. The robots were successfully tested on urban areas covering a total of 618 hectares. The experiment demonstrated that the "Pixels" provided high-quality cleaning of all hard surfaces and performed approximately 50 percent of the tasks required for park maintenance, including snow removal and path washing.

Thanks to its attachments, Pixel can operate year-round, reducing the need for dedicated personnel by up to 30 percent. The robot currently carries out regular cleaning in several city parks and the Skolkovo Innovation Center.

Pixel was designed, entirely engineered, and assembled in Moscow. It combines modern design, cutting-edge technology, and innovative solutions. Pixel can reach speeds of up to 10 kilometers per hour and operate for up to 16 hours a day with intermittent recharges, cleaning up to two hectares of land—2.5 times more than other robots.

The developers also paid attention to safety. They equipped the robot with a multi-sensor navigation system and computer vision technology. This allows Pixel to confidently navigate its environment and avoid collisions.

In 2026, Moscow plans to expand the use of innovative technology and test new types of attachments. These include leaf and pine blowers and snow removal and de-icing equipment. Furthermore, the robot is also planned for use in other industries, such as repair work, construction, and landscaping.

Pixel solves the labor shortage problem and opens up vast opportunities for new professions. For example, even people with limited mobility can remotely control and monitor the robot. The implementation of such technologies allows for the digitalization and automation of cleaning processes, providing full control over task execution and saving on consumables. The use of an electric motor makes the robot environmentally friendly and comfortable for city residents.

Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin told the President of Russia about the development of the capital's unmanned systemsThanks to the synthesis of domestic scientific, educational, and industrial potential, a new industry is being created in the city. Vladimir Putin noted that Moscow is the undisputed leader in creating an economy based on unmanned systems, and this experience should be shared with other regions.
