On January 24, the Luzhniki Olympic Complex will host a winter festival of school and university sports. Guests will enjoy quests, competitions, and master classes featuring renowned athletes. "The popularity of sports among children in the capital is constantly growing. In 2025, the number of sports clubs for schoolchildren in Moscow increased by 10 percent, and now almost 350,000 children participate. To support this interest, the city is organizing a large-scale festival where they can try unusual sports, such as snow volleyball or felt boot football. Last season, the festival attracted over five thousand participants," noted the press service of the Moscow Department of Education and Science.
Young Muscovites will be able to tackle the cross-country skiing and biathlon course, have a snowball fight, and try their hand at tag rugby and curling. Participants will also be able to test their skills on a hockey strength tester, try snowboard jibbing, and practice at the biathlon shooting range. The festival grounds will also feature a large skating rink where figure skating workshops will be held.
Participants will also have the opportunity to meet renowned athletes. Skier Nikita Kryukov will share the secrets of endurance, figure skater Makar Ignatov will offer advice on how to train properly and set himself up for victory, and snowboarder Denis "Bonus" Leontyev will give a master class on snowboarding and jibbing tricks.
The festival will run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free, but some events require a card. registration.
