In Severnoye Tushino, efforts to collect and send humanitarian aid to the special military operation (SMO) zone continue. These supplies are being received not only by military personnel but also by medical facilities where wounded soldiers are receiving treatment and recuperating. Last year, residents and community councilors in the district donated over 70 tons of humanitarian aid.
From clothing to dugout candles
The supplies include non-perishable food, warm clothing, generators, camp heaters, tactical stretchers, and much more. Recent shipments included 600 bunker candles and handicrafts such as camouflage nets and socks, as well as letters and small gifts from area residents. Some aid is being sent specifically at the request of volunteers, medical facilities, and coordination centers. Additionally, separate shipments are being made for civilians in the liberated territories.
Collected items are shipped approximately once a month. The next shipment is scheduled for early February.
Everyone can help
Work to collect and send aid to the SVO zone has been underway in Severnoye Tushino since March 2022. It is organized and coordinated by public advisers from the district administration, a total of about 10 people.
As public adviser Irina Chelysheva notes, local residents provide a great deal of assistance.
"We started with a small donation—tea, coffee, sweets, food, and clothing. We collected everything from apartments, but over time, our assistance became more systematic. The local administration provided a space, volunteers joined in, and a real community gradually formed around the collection point. Now people come to us not only to donate things, but also to find out news and support each other. People come from other districts because they know that donations are regularly received here," said Irina Chelysheva.
Those wishing to make a donation are welcome at 51 Geroev-Panfilovtsev Street. The collection point is open Mondays and Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. You can not only bring necessary items but also help sort and pack parcels.
Muscovites donated over 1.5 tons of tangerines to the Special Military District (SVO) soldiers and children in the new regions.Volunteers from Moscow's Northern District delivered about 500 tons of humanitarian aid to the SVO zone.
Public councilors are passionate and active Muscovites. For over 10 years, they have been involved in the city's life, helping their neighbors, implementing their own projects, conducting creative workshops, sports activities, group tours, and engaging in charity work. Furthermore, the councilors serve as a link between residents and the executive authorities.
