Cinema in the circus arena

Many people know the story of the kindly beauty and her envious witch stepmother, but few imagine what it might look like under the big top. The creators not only adapted the fairy tale but also staged the process of its adaptation: viewers feel as if they were on the set of a Snow White film.

The film crew runs around the arena, capturing the best angles, and the pauses between scenes are filled with funny skits featuring the director and his assistant. The screens show takes with Denis Dorokhov, each with a different tone, and hilarious auditions for the role of Mirror featuring Philipp Kirkorov, Evgeny Petrosyan, Sergey Zhukov, and other famous actors. These interludes are a witty dialogue with an adult audience, full of jokes and ironic references.

The viewer is transported into the captivating world of filmmaking, where sometimes, for the sake of the best shot, one must overcome difficulties similar to Snow White's thorny path to happiness.

Colorful metaphors

A familiar fairy tale becomes gripping and intensely emotional in the circus arena. Snow White makes her way through an ominous, dark forest, carefully walking a tightrope at great heights. Not only does she feel terrified among the frightening trees and forest spirits, but so do the spectators, who watch with bated breath.

The performers depict the quarry workers' labor not as a monotonous chore, but as a rhythmic mass dance. They perform spectacular stunts, stunning somersaults on stilts, as if flying around the arena. This creates an unusual contrast: in the harsh conditions of the quarry, everyone strives for lightness, freedom, and flight.

In a split second, the evil stepmother transforms from a stately queen in a luxurious costume into an old witch and enchants an apple to poison Snow White. She circles above the arena, and from the enormous fruit, like caterpillars, ballet dancers emerge. Their graceful bodies weave into living patterns, transforming evil magic into a terrifyingly beautiful spectacle. The apple represents a world of temptation, over which the witch flies, masterfully turning in the air, spinning a multitude of hoops, creating a whirlwind and spreading her spell everywhere.

Four-legged, feathered and sea performers

Animals also take part in the action; they are full-fledged actors.

The scene where the king and queen are greeted is adorned with the "Elephant Training" act, where the animals are adorned with precious stones. They rise to their feet, sit, and nimbly walk along small pedestals. With their power, the elephants emphasize the majesty of the kingdom where the story unfolds.

Snow White's love for animals is revealed by the charming dogs, who can walk on their hind legs, jump over each other, and run around the arena in sync. The parrots roll around in wheels, roll over while lying on the floor, and gracefully follow commands. They embody the sincerity and kindness of the main character, making her image even brighter and purer.

The appearance of the sea lions evokes the most emotion in both children and adults. According to the story, they live in an overseas kingdom where a prince is growing up. The touching animals lie on their sides, moving their bodies comically, hitting balls with their snouts and holding them with their teeth, standing on their fins, and joyfully dancing—twirling on the wet floor. While one performs a trick, the others support them: clapping, nodding approvingly, and snorting joyfully.

For all ages

The film was successfully shot, despite all the inevitable challenges of the creative process. The crew is delighted with the result. It's a true celebration of joy, kindness, and wonder for the whole family. Adults will laugh at the jokes and happily immerse themselves in childhood—in the atmosphere of a circus with glow sticks, the smell of cotton candy, and a sense of magic.

Children will be delighted by complex circus acts, observe touching animals, and become immersed in a familiar fairy tale. Or perhaps they'll discover it for the first time. Amazing stunts, spectacular numbers, colorful set design, and enchanting music will undoubtedly evoke the warmest emotions in audiences and leave lasting memories.
