Kyiv/Moscow, January 20 (Xinhua) — On Tuesday, Russia launched a massive attack on Kyiv's critical infrastructure, leaving 5,635 multi-story residential buildings without heat amid freezing temperatures. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced this on Telegram.

According to him, utility services have already restored heat to almost 80 percent of the aforementioned buildings following the previous large-scale Russian shelling on January 9.

V. Klitschko added that due to the current air strike, the left bank of Kyiv was also left without water supply.

In turn, the Russian Ministry of Defense, as quoted by RIA Novosti, stated that the Russian army launched a massive retaliatory strike on Tuesday night “against Ukrainian military industry enterprises, energy and transport infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, ammunition depots, and long-range unmanned aerial vehicle production facilities.” –0–
