Hong Kong, January 20 (Xinhua) — A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Papua New Guinea at 07:22 GMT on Tuesday, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) reported.

According to initial data, the earthquake's epicenter was located at 5.33 degrees south latitude and 145.93 degrees east longitude. The hypocenter was located at a depth of 104.8 km.
