Washington, January 15 (Xinhua) — US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the composition of the Gaza Peace Council has been completed, and the list of its members will be announced soon.
“I am deeply honored to announce the creation of the Peace Council,” Trump wrote on the Truth Social social network, calling it “the greatest and most prestigious council in history.”
Trump's statement came a day after his special representative, Steven Witkoff, announced the launch of the second phase of the Gaza peace plan, which aims to demilitarize, technocratically govern and rebuild the conflict-torn Gaza Strip.
