Minsk, January 16 (Xinhua) — The rate of money supply growth in Belarus will slow in 2025. The National Bank of Belarus press service published this information on Thursday.

In 2025, the average broad money supply in the country grew by 15.7 percent compared to 16.9 percent in 2024, including the average ruble money supply, which increased by 25.6 percent last year compared to 28.4 percent the year before.

Ruble savings continued to grow rapidly in Belarus. The average value of term ruble deposits increased by 27.8 percent year-on-year, including 38.8 percent for individuals and 17.5 percent for legal entities.

As a result, the share of term ruble deposits in the structure of the average ruble money supply increased by 0.8 percentage points to 43.5 percent. The share of aggregate M1, which includes the most liquid monetary assets (cash in circulation and transferable deposits), decreased by 1.3 percentage points to 52.2 percent.

The level of foreign exchange in the Belarusian economy has decreased. The share of the ruble component in the average broad money supply increased by 5.1 percent over the year and amounted to 65.1 percent in December. –0–
