Rizhao, Shandong Province, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) — China on Friday successfully launched the CERES-1 Y7 commercial carrier rocket from a platform in the sea off east China's Shandong Province, placing a group of satellites in the Tianqi constellation into their planned orbit.

The launch took place at 4:10 a.m. Beijing time from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center's sea platform. -0-
