St. Petersburg, January 15 (Xinhua) — Nine people were injured on Thursday when a stun grenade exploded at a vocational training center for the Komi Republic Ministry of Internal Affairs in Syktyvkar, RIA Novosti reported, citing the regional Ministry of Health.
Another 200 people were evacuated due to heavy smoke. Ten ambulance crews arrived at the scene. Eight injured people were hospitalized, and one person refused hospitalization and received medical treatment at the scene. Doctors are assessing the condition of four patients as critical.
According to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs press service, a fire broke out in the building's roof and has since been contained. Law enforcement agencies are taking a series of measures to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
