Istanbul, January 15 (Xinhua) — Turkey is seeking to advance strategic cooperation with China, focusing on expanding trade, investment, and regional connectivity following the introduction of visa-free travel for Chinese citizens, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said in Istanbul on Thursday.

Answering questions at a press conference, H. Fidan noted that the decision to grant visa-free entry to Chinese citizens reflects Turkey's determination to further deepen bilateral relations with China.

According to him, Türkiye has adopted a policy concept that places trade, investment, and connectivity at the center of relations with China in order to unlock the full potential of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Calling China a major global manufacturing hub, H. Fidan stated that China is pursuing a strategic policy to achieve its goals through a win-win cooperation model that simultaneously benefits China's partners.

The Turkish Foreign Minister noted that this approach opens up new areas of mutual interest, adding that Türkiye is ready to welcome expanded Chinese investment.
