Ürümqi, January 15 (Xinhua) — By the end of 2025, the number of Chinese-Kazakh border crossings through the Dulat checkpoint totaled 156,900, an increase of 50.7 percent compared to the previous year. Of these, 97,700 vehicles were inspected and cleared, a 64.3 percent increase year-on-year. Both figures reached new historical highs, according to data from the local border control service.

The Dulata checkpoint in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (northwest China) is located 247 km from Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city. With the introduction of a mutual visa-free regime between China and Kazakhstan, this border crossing has become a popular corridor for cross-border tourism, business trips, and visiting relatives and friends among residents of both countries.
