BEIJING, January 15 (Xinhua) — North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's foreign trade turnover grew 6.4 percent year-on-year to 220.67 billion yuan (approximately 31.5 billion U.S. dollars) in 2025, 2.6 percentage points higher than the national average, the Neimenggu Ribao daily reported on Thursday.

In 2025, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's exports amounted to RMB 89.87 billion, up 5.4 percent year-on-year, while imports increased 7 percent to RMB 130.8 billion.

It is worth noting that Inner Mongolia's foreign trade turnover reached a monthly high of 24.24 billion yuan in December, up 26.9 percent year-on-year, with exports reaching 10.5 billion yuan, up 22.5 percent, and imports jumping 30.5 percent to 13.74 billion yuan.

In 2025, Inner Mongolia's foreign trade volume steadily grew, accompanied by an improvement in its quality. Over the past year, the region's exports of agricultural products and essential organic chemicals increased by 15.4 percent and 11.4 percent year-on-year, respectively, while copper ore imports increased by 50.4 percent compared to 2024.
