In recent years, Shanyin County, Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province, located outside the Yanmenguan Pass, has been actively developing an integrated model of "ice and snow resources, culture, and tourism, sports," drawing on its geographical advantages and historical sites, such as the Guangwu Great Wall. This has enabled the winter sports industry to become a new driver of economic growth for the county.
Guangwu International Ski Resort, located in the village of the same name in Shanyin County, was included in the third group of national ski tourist resorts in 2024 and receives more than 100,000 tourists annually.
