One of the main topics of the meeting was the fate of 73 UN staff members who remain arbitrarily detained in Yemen, some of them since 2021.
According to the press secretary, H. Grundberg called for the immediate and unconditional release of the detained personnel, stressing the need to respect the safety of all UN staff.
“We continue to demand the immediate and unconditional release of all remaining staff of international and local non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations and those who worked in diplomatic missions,” said S. Dujarric.
