Moscow, January 13 (Xinhua) – Russia strongly condemns subversive external interference in Iran's domestic political processes. This was stated in a comment by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, published on the ministry's website on Tuesday.
M. Zakharova noted that external forces hostile to Iran are attempting to destroy the Iranian state using methods of “color revolutions.”
"The illegal Western sanctions pressure to which the Islamic Republic of Iran has been subjected for many years is hindering the country's development and creating economic and social problems that primarily affect ordinary Iranians," the Russian diplomat noted. She noted that "foreign forces hostile to Iran are attempting to exploit the growing social tensions to destabilize and destroy the Iranian state."
Threats coming from Washington about new military strikes against Iran are absolutely unacceptable, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized.
