VIENTIANE, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) — Liu Haixing, special envoy of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping and director of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, visited Laos on Tuesday to congratulate the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) on the successful holding of its 12th National Congress and the election of Thongloun Sisoulith as General Secretary of the 12th Central Committee of the LPRP.
Liu Haixing conveyed Xi Jinping's congratulatory message to Thongloun Sisoulith.
It said China is willing to work with Laos to promote the continuous development of the China-Laos community with a shared future, guided by the important consensus reached by the top leadership of the two parties and two countries.
Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his sincere gratitude and conveyed warm greetings to Xi Jinping.
He noted that the new central leadership of the LPRP attaches great importance to developing relations with China and is ready to closely cooperate with it to continuously raise relations between the two parties and the two countries to a higher level.
During the visit, Liu Haixing also held talks with Boonleua Fandanuwong, head of the Foreign Relations Commission of the LPRP Central Committee. –0–
