Tbilisi, January 10 /Xinhua/ — The Panama-flagged tanker "CAMINERO" was detained in Georgian territorial waters for violating navigation regulations, the Georgian Interior Ministry's border police reported on Saturday.

According to the agency, officers from the Main Operational and Investigative Department of the Border Police opened a case against the vessel's captain, a Turkish citizen, for violating navigation regulations in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of Georgia.

The vessel's captain was fined, which was transferred to the state budget. After the fine was paid, the tanker was allowed to leave Georgian territorial waters.
