Pyongyang, January 10 (Xinhua) — North Korea accused the Republic of Korea (ROK) of violating its airspace by launching a drone on Sunday, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Korean People's Army (KPA) detected and tracked an aerial target heading north over the Incheon area in South Korea. North Korean units engaged it with special electronic warfare systems, and the target crashed near the city of Kaesong, according to a statement from a KPA General Staff spokesman.
According to him, the drone was supposed to photograph important objects in the DPRK, flying over several points in the country.
The video data obtained from the cameras provides irrefutable evidence that the drone violated North Korean airspace for surveillance and reconnaissance purposes, the statement emphasized. –0–
