BEIJING, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) — China implemented 5.68 trillion yuan (about 810 billion U.S. dollars) worth of investment in water conservancy during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), Vice Minister of Water Resources Chen Min said at a press conference on Friday.

He said the country's annual investment in hydraulic engineering construction has exceeded 1 trillion yuan for four consecutive years since 2022.

By the end of 2025, China's irrigated cropland area will reach 1.09 billion mu (about 72.67 million hectares), 53 million mu more than at the end of 2020.
