Vientiane, January 8 (Xinhua) — The 12th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) was held in the Lao capital Vientiane from Tuesday to Thursday. At the first meeting of the 12th LPRP Central Committee (CC) on Thursday, Thongloun Sisoulith was elected General Secretary of the 12th LPRP Central Committee.
