BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) — The ever-growing nuclear ambitions of right-wing forces in Japan are a dangerous signal of the resurgence of Japanese militarism, which poses a serious threat to world peace and stability, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Thursday.

The Chinese diplomat made the statement at a regular departmental press conference, speaking about a report titled "Japanese Rightist Forces' Nuclear Ambitions: A Serious Threat to World Peace," which was published Thursday morning.

According to the Chinese diplomat, Japan should heed the just call of the international community, immediately clarify its position on nuclear weapons, strictly comply with its obligations under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), and adhere to the "three non-nuclear principles." -0-
