CARACAS, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) — Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil on Wednesday thanked China for its support for the Venezuelan people's full sovereignty over their territory and natural resources.
On his social media page, X. I. Gil wrote that China strongly condemns the serious violations of international law and Venezuela's sovereignty, as well as the acts of intimidation by the United States.
Speaking at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Venezuela, as a sovereign state, has full and permanent sovereignty over its natural resources and all economic activities within its territory.
According to her, the US actions constitute a serious violation of international law, a flagrant infringement on Venezuela's sovereignty, and a grave violation of the rights of the Venezuelan people. The diplomat added that China strongly condemns these US actions.
